It was the year 1895 in the town of Mladá Boleslav.
Two young men, Vaclav Laurin, a mechanic, and Mr. Vaclav
Klement, a bookseller began to manufacture bicycle. By the
year 1899, they had started producing motorcycles, which
brought numerous successes in international contests. By
1905, they had manufactured their first automobile. Today
the company enjoys world-wide popularity under the brand
ŠkodaAuto.
With
a rich history spanning over 109 years, and being one of
the four oldest car manufactures in the world, tracing the

The initial phase of automobile manufacture was a success
from the very start. In 1925, following the merger with Škoda
Pilsen, the company enjoyed enormous progress, producing original
beautiful vehicle and breaking records at international competitions.
The
boom slowed down only after the outbreak of WWII, followed
by a period of socialism. Yet the factory managed to keep
up with the West. In 1991, ŠkodaAuto emerged from the
past and reentered the global arena under the wings of Volkswagen
AG, the German Auto Giant and the largest car manufactures
in Europe.
100
years of know-how and experience in car design and manufacturing
combined with their continuous strive for perfection is the
reason why ŠkodaAuto has always produced unique automobiles
that satisfy every customer’s aesthetical and technical
requirements. Thanks to their progressive thinking, keeping
pace with the demands of the new economic era, ŠkodaAuto
has implemented extensive modernization measures, resulting
in models such as the Felicia, Octavia, Fabia, and the company’s
pride, Superb. |
